In The Field

September 24, 2018

Holy cow I've been busy! We didn't get a p-day before we went into the field, and then we just barely missed it when we got there, so it's been almost 2 weeks! But for the rest of the mission my p-day will be on Monday, Philippines time, or Sunday night in the states!

I don't have a lot of time to talk, but here's a quick run down of the last 2 weeks!
  • I had balut (an egg that the embryo is allowed to develop, then boiled and eaten from the shell) the last night at the Manila MTC and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but I'm definitely not crazy about it.
  • I traveled to San Pablo and met my mission presidents, President and Sister Davies! They are so so awesome!
  • I am assigned to the Lopez 4th ward area and GUESS WHAT! Elder Grant has been assigned to the Lopez 1st ward and they are right next to each other and so we room together, which means I will be seeing him every day for the next 12 weeks, at least...so that is so so awesome!
  • My trainer is Elder Johnson and he's a cool guy, but is definitely an introvert. I'm trying to get to know him better.
I have been busy with learning the language, walking everywhere, being sweaty 24/7, having random rain storms come out of no where, and making people laugh with my terrible Tagalog. It frustrates me to not be able to communicate what I want to say to the people of the Philippines, and then look like a "dear in the headlights" when they talk a million miles an hour.

I miss everyone so much!

If you ever want to send me something the mission address is:
